Beware of Parents Bearing Gifts
Just read a NY Times piece about parental gifting.
Now days, I give money, but the article was about an offending female and male parent giving gifts the adult child didn't want. Things like watches, white underwear, and 1980's sweaters.
I do remember my brother at 11 or 12 being given a toy more suited for a 4 year old from a relative we rarely saw.
Any experiences?

Re: Beware of Parents Bearing Gifts
you say, "thank you, how thoughtful!"
then if you don't like it, donate it or throw it out.
if a person actually takes the time to complain about a gift they received, they are well worth deleting from your life entirely.

Re: Beware of Parents Bearing Gifts
My parents-in-law (RIP) had a thing for sweaters: bad colors, weird designs, golf logos, etc.
The only time I wore them (reluctantly) was when we went to visit.
