    Default Montblanc Hemingway fountain pen

I have a used Montblanc Hemingway fountain pen that I haven't been reaching for lately. I'd like to offer it up for $2975 shipped. Please PM me if interested, I would be happy to FT or text. Pics to be put up in the coming days.

What is the nib size, the general condition, is any of the original packaging available, are you in the US?

Writes like a fine. It's in good used condition--no longer have the box. Located in the U.S.

No offence, but almost $3k is quite high for this pen without box and papers, and in used condition.

Also no offence but if I was seriously considering buying a pen that costs this much then I would need to see detailed pictures here. I don't click links and go elsewhere to look for them.

And date and user id stamped should be a norm.

It's an Imgur link. It's the norm on just about every platform.

There's a date stamp in the last pic.

So does that 100% guarantee that this is your pen and it's currently in your possession?

And inlining the image gives better proof how exactly?

Not sure why you two are piling on a long established member with a spotless history.

As someone who's been eyeing these for a bit now, it's not "quite high" at all.

I've been "eyeing these" for probably a decade, and $2975 for a "good, used" condition pen without packaging is, for lack of a better way to put it, an eBay price. The excessive asking price for these pens have been discussed to death in the pen community, and that includes the current going price for the ballpoints, which are themselves creeping up towards $2000. I would be unreservedly surprised if anybody here falls for this.

Akkerman den Haag sold one of these in a matter of days for 3000€, NOS. That's $3400. I even know who it was sold to. Clearly, the pen sells for this price. It's above my budget as well, but that's the reality of it.

Maybe it's high, maybe it's not. But that should be determined by each individual potential buyer to assess if it's worth that price to them. Attacking a seller for an asking price is petty. If you think it's too high, just don't buy it and move on.

Amen, brother! I don't know why so many people so often seem to feel this Forum is a discussion site.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that the person who originally suggested the price of the OP's Hemingway was too high routinely posts pens for sale himself at outrageously high prices??

    Are you referring to me?
If yes, I have posted a couple of danitrio’s a few weeks ago. At 55-60% of their MRP. Is that outrageously high?
