Waiting Game

I KNOW I'm not the only one waiting. My Nakaya left John Mottishaw's hands today. It is due on Monday. I am desperately trying to think of things to do to fill the time until she arrives.

How do YOU fill the time between when your grail pen has shipped and when you get to carefully cut into that box...

Silly suggestions are always welcome.

And who else is waiting for something htat has you on the edge of your seat??

I can sympathize with you, however I am too new at fountain pens that I do not yet know what my grail pen is yet.....

I sleep in the parking lot of the post office and glare at all the trucks that come in & out of the lot.

Mine all came UPS as I assume yours will too. They are very reliable....

I think the day of was the worst though. Waiting for the door bell and thinking if I even goto the bathroom he might stop by and leave a "Sorry we missed you" notice..

Tuesday is the one day a week NEITHER my husband or I can be home for the majority of the day. :\

The ones that irk me are the FedEx tracking that says its out for delivery on Friday, does not show up and has some lame excuse that no one was there to recieve it. It sits on the truck all weekend. Happens every single time with FedEx and Friday deliveries.

yup, playing the waiting game myself. Have one of my pens in for repair. Been three weeks now and no word yet.

Exactly. My shipping address has someone to accept packages 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Wow, I will SERIOUSLY insist in the future that all such deliveries are sent USPS.

Pen was shipped 3 day UPS on THURSDAY of last week. Now if it had been sent Priority Mail I'd have gotten it (signature required) on SATURDAY. Worst case scenario, we were out and I'd pick it up from the post office on MONDAY.

Instead, UPS was planning on delivering Tuesday (so already WAY behind when the post would have had it here). Because no one can be home Tuesday, my husband, whose got the fancy UPS membership paid on Saturday to have it redirected 3 miles to my office in town. He did this Saturday. The change didn't take effect until this morning, Tuesday morning and now they will not deliver today. They'll deliver tomorrow, and no I can't just come pick it up at the distribution center. (Again, I could if it was USPS).

Seriously? I used to LOVE UPS but they have become incredibly slow and not terribly reliable. Lesson learned, insist on the post office as crazy as that might sound to folks, they are rock solid reliable and FAST.

About shipping: I live on the east coast (United States) and have found USPS priority mail to be vastly superior to UPS when it comes to cross-country shipping. USPS gets here from the west coast in two to three business days while UPS takes four to seven business days (even if it is UPS "three-day" shipping--which never seems to get here in three days). On the other hand, packages from the New York area take five to six business days via USPS priority while UPS ground gets them here within three days. Go figure.

Anyway, I will cross my fingers and my toes in the hope that your Nakaya arrives tomorrow.

I hate when the tracking info say it will be delivered on a date and I wait and wait and nothing....next day is pretty good but that tracking number joke drive me nuts at times.

I'll be searching through packages MYSELF it if doesn't arrive tomorrow! That'll be one day short of a week, which is ludicrous quite frankly. I'm in Texas and USPS gets stuff to me from all corners of the US in three days, every time. I've had it take as little as ONE day when the stuff came from within Texas. Yup, overnight Priority for the three day price. Today is the two year anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. I was SO excited that this special pen was going to show up today. Thanks UPS.

A package I was expecting yesterday got pushed back to today. "Notice Left" on the tracking comments does not make any sense. I did not receive a notice neither did our mail room. I just tracked it right now and it has been updated to say delivery scheduled for 8/14. Huh?

tandaina... I know your beyond frustrated. Unfortunatly I know exactly how you feel as I had it happen just once and it was with one of my Nakayas. My girlfriend called me Mister Crabby Pants for the 2 days my package was in limbo. I was to arrive on wed and did not show till friday.

As pissed off as you are now, and I know you are cause I was as well lol, when you get that box and open it up you will at least for a while forget you were frustrated by the whole situation.

For now think about what ink and paper your going to use first. AND about the review we are all going to pester you for once you confirm it has arrived lol.
