Or fill out a notebook with sketches ...

(for those of us who have low writing "stamina").

Especially if it's a list of daily weigh-ins.

Or why not both? Journals with illustrations, sketches with annotations, etc.

Yup. Though I also have an app for that (and it draws disturbing trend lines).

    Like this?

Sure, but I don't consider that writing.

Writing to me is to do an essay, article, novella (or anything longer) with my fountain pens.
I like the idea, but I don't have the grit and stamina to actually do it.

Teaching winter courses at the Teton Science School, I kept sketch journals both to demonstrate my engagement and to give the students an example that combined words and drawings in a memorable way.

    Greetings.
What I've found over many years is that I write things down to sort of get them out of my head. This has translated in more than a few occasions to ....whole notebooks filled with turgid descriptions of how a particular relationship was progressing ( or usually..not..).

Since being retired, and having moved out of that phase of my life...thank goodness !! , and having resurrected my love of FPs I've again found that I'm driven to pick up a pen and write..........anything .. and without long angst ridden, soul searching about why an argument turned out the way it did.,etc etc ...the only way I've found to use my many ( many ) pens , is to just sit and write Anything...at all....doesn't matter ! Just write.

This has turned into whole Rhodia pads filled both sides with ...Stream of Consciousness blathering. Just for tha sake of watching letters coming off the end of the nib.

Ok I'm single and retired, so I have lots and lots of time now, but just sitting and writing is such a great pastime.

My handwriting has improved hugely , from watching the letters and words pour out of the pen, and trying to make the letters more and more perfect, ( which thankfully is an endless task !)

I can't recommend Stream of Consciousness writing enough...doesn't matter what you write ...just. write.

I've done a lot of that, inspired by this book: Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg. That book recommended using a fountain pen and got me hooked.

James Joyce (Ulysses, Finnegan's Wake) is a good example.

Stream of Consiousness writing always reminds me of Morgen Freeman reading the notebooks in Se7en:

Don’t get me wrong though - I envy people with the discipline to carve out enough time each day to do exactly that.

Thank you for sharing this material, I appreciate it and your efforts. Writing a literature review is a challenge in itself, as you must combine a literature analysis with a summary, which can be difficult to do. Therefore, you need help with literature review to reach out for quality writing.
