I don't know how many remember the "Spy vs Spy" cartoons written for Mad Magazine by Antonio Prohias. There was an eternal rivalry between the White Spy and the Black Spy; whoever lost in one issue would win in the next.

Very rarely, the Grey Spy would show up and defeat them both. I thought of including her as an observer here, but decided that it made things too complicated.

I thought of something outside the box for the Combo prompt. I drew this image earlier this year for the Stripes prompt. So I adapted it to become what I thought might be considered as a combo.

Well, who could be more Victorian than Victoria herself?



Based on this source photo..

Actually, this prompt touches on one of my favorite subjects, portrait sketches based on photos from the 19th and very early 20th centuries. I don't think I saw the humanity in photos of these historical figures so clearly before I tried to draw them.

since I am interested in history of architecture, I choose to draw the facade of a fictive residential building in victorian style.



the dip pen I used, dates from the Victorian era as well.

Thank you. I used vintage Pelikan 4001 brillant red. not sure if the color tone is still the same today.

I expect that everyone is preparing for their new year celebrations, and the final Inktober 52 prompt just isn't a top priority.

I don't care to join Instagram just to view the list, but some googling found the information here. I have no reason to think it's incorrect. "Myth".
