I nurtured a strong desire over the years to acquire the reddest pen in the market. Red is after all my favorite color. It was easy picking out what pen to aim for - harder to actually get it. As early as 2012, I fixed my eyes on Conway Stewart's Cherry Red material officially in their color code 617/056 particularly in the Churchill model. 475 quid was well something beyond the reach of a university student, however, so I was relegated to drooling over Mary Burke's excellent promotional material for the model during her time with CS. Fast forward to about a decade today and I'm lucky enough to own both a Churchill and a Duro in this fantastic acrylic.
Is it as red as I had hoped? You bloody betcha! It deserves the name cherry red and reminds me of other things sanguine say accidental papercuts, beautiful pieces of steak (albeit without the white marbling that gets a score of A5), and that spicy tuna sashimi I'm a constant sucker for from Little Tokyo. Well, I'll stay quiet and just let these pictures speak for themselves.

There are a bunch of other fantastic reds out there. Conway Stewart's own Poinsettia is a close contender, there are I believe three recent Aurora Optima releases that are just as lovely and you've also got great ebonite such as the Terracotta from Leonardo Pens. Oh, and anything in Urushi Red. What's your reddest pen?
