Default Remembering a friend's gift of a Cross Ballpoint

My friend Rob, who would have been 65 today, passed away a while ago.

Writing this remembrance of our road trip to see and photograph Great Gray Owls, I thought of the garnet-colored Cross pen he gave me for my birthday many years ago.

Why a garnet-colored pen? It's the birthstone of Aquarius. Because our birthdays were in the last part of January, Rob described us as the "Aquarius Brothers."

And so it seemed appropriate to write today's entries in my observing log with the Cross pen.

Our nickname for each other was "Sigmund," but that's another story.
