Mine will hopefully be here tomorrow which is still pretty quick, but we all know how shipping can be haha. I have my Lamy cleaned out and ready so I can ink it up with the first ink so I can start doing some tests, I especially like to see how the ink performance and color compare from when it is first inked up to being in the pen for some time.

I can't wait for the fun to begin!!

    Thanks

    You received it…..
    They look nice …..
    You inked them up….

And then…..: „ will let them "sit" for a few days before testing them” 😱😱😱😱

    Whatˋs up Dr. P.?

We want to see something! 😎

Not fair to tease us (sitting on the peanut gallery) and then tell: “ätsch I got it, they look nice, but I won’t show you”. 😤
    just kidding

I don't want to spoil your surprise, Ptero!

In all fairness, though, I live just over "the hill" from junglejim, so mail is generally quick, unless there is snowfall over Donner Pass.

Yea mines going all the way across the US to NC, it says it was still in CA yesterday so I will honestly be surprised if it actually makes it here by tomorrow, but that's okay since I won't start until everyone has their samples and some are going to take a bit longer

    Thanks

Got mine today very well packed as always junglejim, and so far I just had a minute to look at them in the vials and I have to say they look like very nice shades of [redacted] haha, but I've learned that any color can look totally different on paper than in the bottle, though I'm pretty sure I will like them. Very excited to get started.

    Thanks

Mine were on their way across the pond when I last checked tracking.....Always good news. It took 3 days of circling around the LA area before they were put onto a plane though

Now safely arrived. Thank you junglejim.

Thank you again, junglejim, for this great opportunity! I am delighted that everyone has received their inks and are ready to begin.

And thank you for the honor to post first.

I thought I would start with a little sketch that I did for MI #40. This ink was rather interesting to draw with. I am no artist, but I do love the water color effect of many inks. MI #40 is no exception. I am certain, however, that Ptero will come up with something amazing!

I will be posting my thoughts on the ink a little later today. For now, I need to run off to meet with a client.

    Have fun, everyone.

Well done Dr. P., it looks awesome, very interesting ink.

Unfortunately I‘m not actively participating in this round.
As just proven you don’t need me to come up with something amazing. 👍

Just a couple of quick writing samples of MI #40. These were done on a Rhodia 80 GSM dot pad with a Lamy Aion with medium nib.

A deep intense purple that seems fairly well saturated. It doesn't seem lubricated in my writing, but does seem moderately wet. And it seems to feather just a bit on Rhodia and Exacompta papers and my engineering pad. I look forward to hearing what others think.

    My chroma for MI 40:

I was stunned that the color that it looked in the vial ended up making this chroma with almost an electric blue and pink.
