So obvious, even Russell Brand gets it.

What's really funny is that all this anti-elite media is traditionally from the left, but once Steve Bannon points it out (and gets a certain orange politician to act against it) the left freaks out.

It is not only liberals who freak out over Steve Bannon. Trump is partially his creation, so how bright can he actually be?

He was bright enough to formulate a message that got Trump elected.

Wouldn’t call tribalism “bright”. Most bright folks know the destruction it can cause and keep their mouth shut.

    Chuck, you're missing the point.

It's all in the interview PBS did with Bannon. He lays out his views. You don't have to agree or disagree with them, but you won't know them by only listening to interpretations of his views.

He points out "The Party of Davos" (his catch-phrase for "elites") gets rich and gets bailed out by the little guy. This is usually a far-left/progressive point against capitalism. It's Bernie's whole schtick. It's what Russell Brand rails on (and he gets his articles from liberal and socialist sites).

Bannon crafted it into a message that resonated with working-class Americans.

You get your news from Bannon and Brand?

Yes, but he should be crafting something to resonate all Americans. And, neither craft meaningful solutions. One reason I listen to David Brooks is he doesn't just say whats wrong, but offers solutions. And solutions for the nation as a whole.

Democracy is messy. It means you and I can each have our views and disagree, but "choose" to live in the same society. It is what we do here. We disagree and disparage, but continue to participate. The reason I have become more liberal is that I recognized everything cannot go my way or that I need to understand every one to respect them.
