    Default I have an old Waterman I bought and would like to know what model it is.

    The lines in the barrel are not cracks its the way the light reflects off. Also the nib is marked Waterman's 75 made in USA. I believe its gold but its not marked. From what I can find they did not mark the nib as gold because it was 80 percent covered. Thanks for any help

    A Waterman Taperite-ish sort of pen. ?????

    That looks like a Waterman Taperite Stateleigh.

    And yes, I believe they made these to compete with Parker 51, so that nib should be gold (and it looks like one also).

    Sure looks like a Waterman's Taperite Stateleigh (or Corinth), based on the cap markings.

    I know there is an article (page) out there on the Internet that discusses the changes in the caps, but for the life of me I can't find it right now . . .

    Here are a couple links (and an ad) to look at and decide for yourself;
