FS: Pelikan 400NN (Vintage, Green/Black Striated, Bayer, 14C F Nib, Parts Pen)

For sale is a vintage Pelikan 400NN green/black striated fountain pen with a 14C F nib. Both the cap and section have hairline cracks. The section crack does cause ink to slightly leak onto your fingers as you write with the pen. The crack to the outer cap hasn't caused the nib to dry out. Other than the cracks, the condition of the pen is very good to excellent. The cap has minimal scratches/scuffs. The finial logo is also still nicely filled in and green. The barrel's translucency is excellent. The gold trim has no brassing/plating loss that I can see. The 14C F nib wrote well when I inked the pen before listing it here. When I used it previous to this inking, it had some slight skipping issues. It has some give but I wouldn't call it semi-flex. The piston filling mechanism is in working order and moving up and down the barrel very smoothly. Vintage Pelikans can have issues with the section shrinking, but I was able to unscrew the nib unit and screw it back in without any issue. The Bayer logo/monogram on the cap is, I assume, for the famous aspirin maker. The nib unit could be used in modern Pelikan pens. I think it should fit 200, 400 and 600 series pens.

The section crack could probably be repaired and, again, the crack to the cap hasn't caused the nib to dry out. I think the nib unit alone is worth the asking price.
