Welcome to the Fountain Pen Geeks forums! Smaller than the largest pen fora, larger than some, you'll find a comfortable community of pen-centric people here, with a growing body of posts, reviews, and group knowledge. Mostly, you'll find people who are enthusiastic about fountain pens, and fountain pen people.

Welcome! I had viola lessons as a kid, and bought one this winter. I can cause it to make noise, just about.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

Nice, Sailor Kenshin! I’ve played viola for 32 years and currently make my living teaching violin and viola. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Howdy from dreary Northern California, fog bound and wet 12 months out of the year. Used to live in Ft. Worth (my wife is from there), and like Sailor, I used to take viola lessons when I was in school. (My hands were kinda small, so they gave me a violin strung up as a viola). I learned to play Clair de Lune and Autumn Leaves, but not much else. Except scales. Unlike Sailor, I did not buy one at any time since, although I've thought about making an electric violin from a cigar box.
I have two Duofolds, one from the '40s (pre-'48 button filler; has a brass button instead of aluminum) and an aerometric from probably the '50s. I had a third one, also an aerometric, but I gave it to my wife. She loves it.
Do you have any flat tops from around the '20s and '30s, Lucky Curve, etc? They tend to be out of my price range, but they sure make me want to spend money irresponsibly. Particularly the Mandarin Yellow ones.
This is a good place to hang out and talk about fountain pens, but it's probably a good idea to avoid the political subforum, which tends to get ugly.
I hope you stick around; I'd bet you'll enjoy it.

Come tune it for me? 😜

@calamus: I love it when people make their own instruments! My cigar boxes (found decades ago at a yard sale) are in use as lined pen storage.

I used a metal can for a resonator, and lifted the shape of the f holes from a photo of a Stradivarius.
