EoC- Many members are trigger-shy given their post experiences with you. They are doing the right thing. Recognize, your history here has many layers of tarnish which you'll have to spend considerable time polishing off before you're accepted by some. For some, that polishing will never be enough.

A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
    A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
    A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
    A: Yes it is!
    M: No it isn't!

I don't believe they are doing the right thing.

You're not doing yourself any favors by bumping this thread with posts like that.
There's in nothing mean, nasty or demeaning in my post. It is more of a lament that the forum as a whole may suffer from their lack of engagement, and new members may be deterred.

Your belief is far from the majority's. Recognize it's the minority here that are largely ignoring your history.

    No matter.

I will walk my path alone if necessary. In doing so I will try to bring things of interest to the forum as I have so very often done, and perhaps a little joy.

(note that this section of the forum is for off-topic discussions, so as long as it is civil there should be no real prohibitions on subject matter)

This can not be rushed to be effective. Both sides must be ready not just one.

@chrissy, you have my unreserved apology. You did not deserve such an insult and I wholeheartedly retract it. It is an example of wrong thought and wrong speech and I am embarrassed that I stooped so low. Unfortunately I cannot delete it because you keep quoting it. Would if could tho.

I eventually found the offending post - wasn't fun trawling through everything as you may imagine. Have deleted it now.

The other person that warrants a heartfelt apology is Mr Jon Szanto.

Over several years Mr Szanto and I have exchanged private emails on a somewhat irregular basis. He has always been willing to offer advice and quick to point out when he felt unable to do so. I have very much appreciated this connection, even if it was tenuous at times, but I don't think I have ever really told him this. So it bears witnessing now.

I am uncertain what the precise trigger was that set me to being rude and insulting just recently. It definitely was not deserved. I can only hope that he can find a way to consign this to the past as I am doing so now.

    Sorry, Jon.
