I don't have a guess for MI#42 yet but my guess for MI#43 is IWI Cold Dew. A light, cold grey.
My guess for MI#44 is L'Artisan Pastellier Jaune Jasmin that is a yellow jasmine scented ink. I know that jasmine flowers smell like vanilla so that's why I would go for this.

I also wrote with all 3 in my Miquelrius notebook:

    MI 42,43,44 1.jpeg

I was just taking notes of some very far future wish list inks on this Ayush pocket notebook with my lamy and MI 42 and just had to post. It is easier to tell in person but the shading on this paper is fantastic going from a forest green to as light as a mint green in some places

I cleaned out the last drops of #44 from my Dollar Demonstrator, and for an orange ink, it cleaned easily enough. Except for the smell!

I'm halfway through a letter to a fellow geek using MI#42 and I'm anticipating that by the time I finish the letter and need to post it I might know what ink I used.

@mreeveshp, when I changed #43 in a different pen. It was alright again. It doesn't skip and writes flawlessly. It's a pen/ink incompatibility
Now that #44 has stayed in lamy safari for a week. The writing experience is much more enjoyable. Sometimes, time works for the ink, sometimes the result is the same.

I did a little sketch for the inkober thread. The prompt was mountain.

I used mostly mystery 43/44 and Akkerman Delfts Blauw and touch of 42.

Congratulations to Yazeh for guessing the identity of one our Mystery Inks!

Mystery Ink #42 is Franklin-Christoph Black Forest Green, chosen as one of the green inks I use for Quality Control scribbling at work

    Linky: https://www.franklin-christoph.com/c...28678066438219

Mystery Ink #43 is the high-end line (expensive) of Jacques Herbin called Gris de Houle.

    Linky: https://andersonpens.com/jacques-her...k-50ml-bottle/

The last Mystery Ink #44 is KWZ El Dorado. KWZ uses a preservative in all of their inks that smells like vanilla. I enjoy this color for its shading characteristics.

Do our current participants prefer the 2-ink vial or 3-ink vial Mystery Ink challenge? The postage cost is the same, so please let me know either in this thread or by PM.

I hope you all enjoyed this round of Mystery Inks. The next 2-3 inks have already been chosen for the next challenge in early September, the good Lord willing.

    Thank-you all for participating!

    All the Best.

Thanks, JJ! I thought the teal/green ink (#42) was a Monteverde, possibly because it has that slinky quality.

The gray (#43)? A pen pal suggested a Montblanc gray. I thought maybe she was right.

I knew the orange, scented ink (#44) was a KWZ, but not which one. I used up what was in the Dollar Demonstrator, and put in another KWZ ink, Grapefruit, which is way more orangey.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

I'm going to switch the inks around and try them in different pens, I could tell a difference when I had 42 in the metropolitan compared to 44. In some ways it's kind of annoying but in some ways it's kind of fun switching inks to different pens to see how performance can change.

    Thanks

I didn't know that KWZ inks smelled of vanilla so that's news to me. I think I only have two KWZ inks in my collection.

Thank YOU James for sending us these inks to write with. I understand what you mean when you say that it costs the same to actually post them and I for one really enjoyed having three completely different inks. But it is more expensive for you in terms of inks and sample vials so I think the final decision to send two or three ink samples should ultimately be yours.

Thank you junglejim this one was a lot of fun, 42 I had no clue since there are so many green/teal inks. And I guess I was kind of close I kept thinking 44 might be j. Herbin just cause I knew they made scented (completely forgetting that KWZ has some. I'd really like to get my hands on an ink like Gris de Houle since it is so different to me, maybe one day. I really enjoyed all three for different reasons.

Thank you again for hosting this gracious event

Thank you so much for this round Junglejim.
I'm surprised, I got the KWZ, since I've never used them before, but I had heard often about the distinct vanilla scent.

Personally I enjoyed the 3 ink round best, compared to the two, even though I wish I had better prepared for it, and emptied all of my test pens.
I like that three colours were so different...
