My private pen photo album to share...

The thread "just some pen pics from time to time..."* got exactly three years old and has reached a considerable length. Unfortunately, it has become very confusing and individual topics and discussions are hard to find.

Many members have participated and made valuable contributions. "just some pen pics from time to time..." is therefore since long time not only my thread. Since I find the discussions and contributions exciting, the thread should continue. However, I myself have decided to start something new.

Since I still find great pleasure in creating and taking fountain pen photos, I will focus on this in the future. But this thread will be a bit more private. Something like my personal photo album that I would like to share with you.

These are superb photos, Christof! Indeed, they are beyond superb! I especially like the final one with its razor-sharp focus and brilliant lighting of the pen and open book. I've been taking pen photos for more than fifteen years, the last ten for pen sales and blog illustrations. I do my best but I wish mine were half as good as yours.

Alright, after some turbulence at the beginning of this project, I'm making another attempt.

I hope you like the photos of one of my absolute favorites:






...and to clear up any misunderstandings: I do not claim to create art (and never did).
My goal is technical perfection (from which I still see myself far away).
To have fun with my fountain pens and to share this joy with you. Nothing less, nothing more.

here comes a photo of the whole pen:



It is a Diplomat (sub brand of Montblanc) in Azurite blue from ca. 1936. Some more informations and photos will follow.

The Diplomat is clearly based on the Montblanc 322:



Each individual part has the same dimensions and is interchangeable, except the cap top, the feeder and the nib:



...but there is another strong similarity in design to a completely different pen:

Like Parker, Montblanc seems to have had a similar view of what an inexpensive fountain pen should look like. I find this amazing.

Cool picture! I am so used to seeing ladybirds in red with black spots that I forget there are other colour variants. Nice to see.

This photography is from 2017. It shows one of my very first Duofolds on an original document from 23 of august 1930. I still have theese. it's one of my favourite pens and picture. That's why it belongs to this album.
