If your point is that your faith mindset just can't accept the possibility of a gay man as the Messiah and son of God, then just say so. I certainly never considered it until some smarter people than I started pointing some things out to me and asked me if I thought gay humans existed in the time of Jesus. Well, of course they did, even centuries before that there are records and stories of same sex love and eroticism. Humans haven't changed much, and my sense of faith and history have allowed for much growth and change in my understanding... So....Curious!

If I’ve learned anything, logic has no influence in how you form your world view.

However, you know some smart people and they think. Can anyone imagine using such a statement as evidence of anything? Wow! 👍

Back on topic, the process by which the American Evangelical has become politized stems from a misunderstanding of discipleship or an complete ignoring of the concept. The 10 rules of the road would benefit anyone who tried them, but they were given by Moses to Israel. Therefore, those who would consider become a disciple can do so with the understanding that they will be following Jesus in what he said was righteousness, what we are inside.

We should refrain from condemning others, and I know this is difficult. We should seek opportunities to serve others as best we can, to love our neighbor as ourselves. If this leads to being politically engaged, we should do so as Jesus would if he were living our lives.
“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

So that was just a hit and run?

I'd like to ask Huckabee what consequences he thinks those indictments should have.

"Former Arkansas governor and failed presidential candidate Mike Huckabee opened the most recent episode of his “Huckabee” program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network by warning that if former President Donald Trump fails to win the 2024 election because of the multiple indictments he is facing, “it is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets.”

“Do you know how political opponents to those in power are dealt with in third-world dictatorships, banana republics, and communist regimes?” Huckabee asked during his opening monologue of Saturday night’s episode. “The people in power use their police agencies to arrest their opponents for made-up crimes in an attempt to discredit them, bankrupt them, imprison them, exile them, or all of the above.”

“If you are not paying attention, you may not realize that Joe Biden is using exactly those tactics to make sure that Donald Trump is not his opponent in 2024,” Huckabee claimed.

“Here’s the problem,” Huckabee warned. “If these tactics end up working to keep Trump from winning or even running in 2024, it is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets.”

This is a classic straw man argument. He suggests Biden is using his office to go after Trump in order to win an election. The problem is, too many Evangelicals think Huckabee, being a Christian, is telling them the truth.
