The ones I've been making are tan because that was what I could get at a reasonable price. PEEK is expensive, and there is a fair bit of waste when making a collar. Even scrap PEEK sells for over $20/foot for 1/2" rod stock. Delrin is black, and is I think what Omas was using because it machines easily. The problem is that Delrin weakens and breaks down when exposed to acid, like acid that you find in ink. All of the collars that have broken are discolored and brittle, indicating damage from ink. Most people don't care.
