too darn hot, junk TV and Fred Krinke

It really was entirely too hot today, so other than taking a shower, watching the cats, taking a cat to the vet for her boosters, and napping, about all I did was watch some junk TV. I think the station was "True Real", one of those over the air channels--I'm still not willing to buy an A/C system for the house, and I'm also not willing to pay for cable TV. So anyways, Storage Wars was on. It's vaguely amusing. In one of the episodes, filmed in 2008 I believe, two of the buyers found some fountain pens in the contents storage locker they bought. They took them to the late Fred Krinke's "The Fountain Pen Shop" to get them valued. All but two of the pens were lower-priced vintage pens, Esterbrooks and Sheaffers mostly, and two near-new Montblancs, a 146 and a 149 Meisterstuck. I'm guessing that pen prices were higher then, because Krinke valued the 146 at $750 and the 149 at $950. In any case, it was cool to at least see a pen shop I would otherwise never get to see.
