Just arrived no. 25 Masterpiece push knob filler in Coral

I opened up the box and there it was. It is a MB Masterpiece no. 25 in coral. First impressions. This is a light but very solid pen. It is very comfortable to hold and feels warm in the hand. The cap has an inscription "4810 Montblanc Masterpiece". The clip has no brassing and the large Montblanc emblem is toned ivory. I love the domed top into which the emblem is set. The cap rings are nice and tight and provide a nice accent to the cap. There is an imprint on the barrel "Original Montblanc" a outlined emblem and "simplo" are imprinted. The imprint is light as it has worn over time. This pen has been used but is still in remarkable condition. It has an 'ef' semi flex nib which is in beautiful condition. Now my favourite part-the push knob. I have no idea why MB discontinued this filling mechanism. You twist the cap and the cap rises. Unlike a traditional button filler the cap does not come off. After raising the cap you insert the nib in the ink push down on the knob and release. Then simply screw down the cap. No more lost caps.

I inked this up with some midnight blue and it is a lovely writer. I will not inflict a writing sample on you but this pen writes very very well. There is some flex to the nib which gives some very nice line variation. Overall, I am very happy with this pen.
