Uh-oh.

I was actually writing in my journal with this vintage Conklin when it dropped a blob of ink on the page. I decided to use that "feature" for this drawing.

Granted, I may have encouraged it a bit.

Speaking of vintage gears, once upon a time, I was into synths, and I was always fascinated by their looks, not just the sound. So here's an imaginary analog synthesizer inspired by those from the 1970s with wooden case, a patch bay, wires going all over the place, and of course, oodles of buttons and dials



I've sketched something similar in the past, but this time I enlisted a bevy of markers.

Farm

Well, how about an ant farm?

Although, as Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams found out some years ago, that term is a trademark owned by one particular maker of formicaria. Oh well.



Anyway, it's been fun seeing the different styles at work, and the different interpretations of the prompts. It's a shame we lost Pterodactylus part way through, although he's still active on Deviant Art, and his remaining drawings can be seen there. I put a couple of my favorites there as well, but didn't want to make my "gallery" there too large.

And I'd like to think that some people who just watched here were trying out a little sketching on their own, even if they didn't want to post the results publicly. But perhaps next year?
