This has already been mentioned on a couple of other threads. Here and here

The pen and ink stands were just in the way when he wanted to sign the large documents, especially as he seems to like to sign with his arm angled rather than straight.

I think the problem was with the tiny table rather than the pens. Perhaps they can afford a bigger one next time.

Yes the table was too small for the papers and the pen and ink stands that were on there.

    Just my personal opinion.

To me the whole monarchy thing is just bizarre.
This family lived like croesuses and enriched themselves at the cost of the common people for 1000 years.

Here in Austria we were ruled by the Habsburg family also for centuries.
Luckily we washed away that riff-raff 100 years ago.

To see such things like the monarchy in Britain in the 21 century for me is an anachronism.

If the Brits think they need a King then they should at least elect one in a democratic process and everyone should be able to apply for that job.

For sure not, that was also not the intention, for sure not an advice.
I tagged it as my personal opinion and off topic.

I have no problem with people liking a monarchy.
People are different everyone is allowed to have an own opinion.

Second occasion does seem to be a problem with the pen, not the desk space.

Interesting! In the youtube video King Charles is using his Montblanc 146 Sterling Pinstripe fountain pen that he has had for many years. I see he dipped the nib to have a nice wet, broad signature.

Is the Yahoo video showing the same pen? It does seem during his frustration that it is metal-covered, and from his comments it has happened before.

My wife sent me this not having any idea hope much i would freaking love it!
Me thinks MB may not be getting granted a Royal Warrant

I would politely suggest that His Majesty investigate getting a Parker “51”, Vacumatic or Duofold… personally i think he should get a rolled silver “51” like @christof has

Sadly I couldn't see which pen it showed. I decided to take the comments that were added to the Guardian video with a pinch of salt as we don't know who added them and I've seen some really odd supposedly "translated" comments on YouTube videos previously.

Did the Queen leave her treasured Parker 51 to a more deserving member of the Royal household? :-)

Isn't that always the case? Seems there's a thread full of people sharing pics of exactly the same problem...

Maybe we should invite the King to hang out at a London Pen Show and learn how to cope with his recalcitrant and balky FPs :-)

I'm pretty sure he will have a few other things on his "to do list" that he needs to do instead.
