    Default Green Striated

    Hi all,

I have been out of the loop for most of the last year. My collecting has been haphazard other than green celluloid pens, which have been an obsession.

I have a few Montblancs and love to hear about your views on this very charismatic model. Sorry about the photo, it has pulled some colour from the second pen.

    enjoy

I swear, I've *never* seen MBs like that. Those are the first Montblancs I'd consider owning!

These are the first Montblancs I've seen that aren't the typical 'drab' conservative colours and they look amazing. I can only imagine how good they look in use.

    Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing!

I love the striated MBs. Had a chance once to pick up 144 in green and didn't go for it. I regret it.

    Mags
They are beautiful pens, especially if you get one with no ambering of the colored celluloid. Not sure of prices on a 142 or 144, but a 146 with no ambering and great color will be north of $1500.

They write the same as the plain black ones..

Disclosure... I have a #146 Green Striated, so not trying to dis them, just sayin' ...........

It is hard to find a 146 without ambering at a reasonable price. North of $1500 is correct! I try not to ink them much but do rotate them through every now and then. The 144s have a lovely heft in the hand. The 146 is just so close to the perfect pen in my view but then I have a real thing for this colour. I think the black 146 is also lovely and have been looking for one for a while.

    I didn't realise they were 146s. That's some collection you've got there, ozwill45! Gorgeous.

Is the centre pen also green striated, or grey striated? (Or is that the second pen/pulled colour you mention in your post)

Re ambering: Will regular inking affect this process? Or is it just a natural phenomenon with old coloured celluloid?

Again, beautiful pens. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

No Francis, only one 146 and the rest are 144s. I wish they were all 146s. The 144s are lovely though.
