    Default Parker Vacumatic breathing tube

I'm in the process af reassembling my Vacumatic. The breather tube comes out very easily and if I blow into it air escapes from the hole it is positioned in. In other words I can fell the air on my lips when I blow in it. Is this the way it should be or not? In my mind air should escape through the nib+feed assembly. HOw can I stop it from 'leaking' air? Does this affect the way it loads the pen? Shellack, silicon grease, new tube? Attached photo of where it 'leaks' air from. Thank you

There is no use for Teflon tape in pen repair.

    I agree with Farmboy.

It's possible that someone opened up the breather hole in the feed a bit, so it's too bit. Try heating and stretching the end of breather tube. If that doesn't work, you can taper the end of a reddytube (WD-40 tube) which is larger in diameter. Just make sure that the tube is one with a larger ID.
