New Guy Sayin Hi!
Hi been looking around for a bit, and it seems there are some nice people here so, I am introducing myself. A bit about me, I have always liked pens on lark I purchased a Cross Townsend FP many many years ago and just had it (never really used it). Then a few years ago my oldest daughter asked for a FP for Christmas and that started me looking at FPs again, that year I bought everybody in the family a pen and some ink as a gift. I got a Diplomat Excellence A+ for me, it is one of my favorites. That was the start of my slide down the slippery pen slope. I have 6 FPs now, with one on the way, more on that later. I like the way a FP can aid in expressing what you are feeling when you write.
I'm no stranger to slippery slopes I am also really into audio, wood working, and shooting. Reading the posts here I began to wonder what makes a pen worth $100 and another worth $1000 is it the way it writes, the way it looks the material, the nib material I have no reference to judge. On Fountain Pen Day (an excuse waiting for a pen) I spent the most I ever spent on a pen when I got a good deal on a Aurora Ambienti Deserto. I thought it was beautiful and it spoke to me. I am anxious for it to arrive and hopefully it will give me an indication of the differences in a range of pens and pen prices.

Welcome to this group. Be sure to try a variety of papers as they really affect the pen's performance. Tomoe River paper is near universally admired.
