    Default Midori leather notebook cover

    Quick question.

Does anyone have any experience with the Midori goat leather notebook covers? I am on the fence between this and a Galen leather product. The Galen has to be bought overseas, the Midori I can buy in this country. Price is a bit different but not a big issue.

Really just wondering how the Midori holds up under use and abuse!

    Cheers

I do not like goat as a general rule. Based on first hand experiences, goats donít really like me either.

I've had a Midori goatskin leather notebook cover for several years. It has worn beautifully despite the fact that I am pretty hard on my notebooks. It has gotten darker with age - see the pictures below - but not that much. I've had several things made from goatskin and they last quite well.

Another option for you is to look at Stride Ridge (https://www.strideridge.com/). I purchased a cover for my Hobinechi last year, then another for my Seven Seas notebook. They are very nice and have lasted really well, even when I take them out with me when I do field work.

@DrPenfection, thanks for the info on the Midori, plus the link for (yet) another product! So many choices. Assuming that durability is much the same it looks like my choice will rest on what I like the look of and cost. Time to start doing the sums I guess!

I have a small passport one. I really like it. It's very elegant and it has aged into a pleasing colour. I'll try to post a photo sometime tomorrow, if you're interested

Oh, yes please. As I noted in the OP these covers are available in my country, so the prospect of getting one in a couple days is trumping the 4 week wait from elsewhere at the moment. I do have a Galen leather slim cover for A5 which is nice, but like to try different things too.

Thanks, Yazeh, nice Traveler's notebooks. I have a dark brown one of these myself, but it's the other Midori cover (see DrPenfection's post) that I am really looking for. Love the patina on yours though!
