    The hypocrisy is utterly astounding.
I think Garland just cemented himself in the #1 position for an impeachment proceeding which will commence soon after the 118th Congress is convened on January 3, 2023.
That would be a waste of time, since there aren't enough votes in the Senate.

The house, as the owner of the purse-strings, can #DefundTheDOJ... That's a threat probably more potent than impeachment.
Agree it would be a waste of time but that has never bothered either party in the past.
I do like your thought, though!

If the Dems can scream "defund the police" then why not the Republicans counter with "defund the DOJ!" Has a nice ring to it!!!

By announcing his candidacy, Trump just admitted the election was not stolen.

There are members of both parties who in the past have not wanted to pursue the impeachments. They usually get knuckled under, though, and put back in place once the train gets going. There will be Republicans who will not want to pursue this route. Watch out for electorate backlash from the weariness of it all.

Some Democrats screamed defund the police. There are extreme elements on both sides. AOC is an example for the Democrats.

What is appears the majority of Americans want is moderate candidates and leaders.

We don’t need to have our lives interrupted by some attention seeking political person constantly.

Needless to say, you mean Donald Trump.
But, the same could be said about Joe Biden. Or Kamela Harris. Or Ron DeSantis Or Hillary Clinton Or Mike Pence Or.........on and on and on.

lol, somebody posted “Maricopa vote dump” when the ‘no’ vote jumped significantly.

I don’t think he’ll use Twitter that much, if at all, since he’s invested in Truth social.

    I’m just relishing the Schadenfreude.

This is all politicians. It takes a certain hubris to think you have the answers to peoples woes.

Indeed, and you often have to be a millionaire already to win the big offices. Money talks.

I just finished a review of a new book on Samuel Adams, who was not swayed by enticements. The review is on the NYT this morning.

Trump approval has fallen substantially among GOP and independent-GOP-leaning voters (USAToday & SUffolk Univ survey):

I tend to think in terms of marketing.
Innovators: The first 2.5 % to adopt a new idea.
Early adopters: The next 13.5 %.
Early majority: The first 34 % after the early adopters.
Late majority: The second 34% after the early adopters.
Laggards: The last 16 % to adopt a new idea.

Then at last some begin to rethink their decision.

Hopefully that absurdity sinks him with team-red. DeSantis 2024.

I didn't either. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it, because it's so absurd.
