I recall at one point EoC indicated he had written a primitive AI system to post as him and that it needed training to be better at posting.

Primitive enough that he wrote it post by post. I think that was right before he was training himself to be a Texan.

    That didn't work out either.

    Texans are bred not learned.
I wonder if implants were involved.

I'd forgotten about that run of idiot posts, thanks for the reminder and good laugh "pardner."

Meanwhile, whenever there is some sort of conversation like this, and especially within this particular thread, it sure seems to me that a flurry of very agitated appearing spam posts appear elsewhere within FPG's sub-forums.
They arrive, of course, under the screen names we know David uses and at times that are convenient for one who lives in New Zealand. These are not the work of spam bots, web crawlers or whatever else puts spam in a chat site. These are the direct efforts by David Jackson to fulfill his vow to take down FPG. Well, guess what, it is not going to happen David. Why not put the time to better use and see if you can get a job? Not that you will ever find one with as much lax oversight or absence of a requirement for some accountability as you enjoyed at the University.

I think the implants failed due to lack of appropriate cooling. He tried air-con instead of Texas grade AC.

I find that hard to believe too. Those "most users ever online" are web crawlers and such.

That's not what is being referenced.
Ok, but the Spam-O-Matic stats show that most of the spam is getting blocked. Fake website traffic bots are readily available, so it is plausible that one person could do it. The hypothesis that one person is personally writing each and every spam posts seems questionable at best.

Perhaps the best solution would be to find a moderator Eric would accept. For example, some diamond stud of the pen collecting world, a person with no commercial interests.

I note this morning it is hard to find the spam among all the bumped sales posts.

This hypothesis is yours and, I think, yours alone.
My sense is the "party line" hypothesis is that many, but not all, of the spam posts are the work of David Jackson. (aka EoC)
There is a big difference between these two hypotheses.

Speaking for myself, I find all the bumped sales posts of the "same old, same old" for months & months on end to be more annoying than the spam posts.
    Am I the only one?

Nope. I for one find the Spam more annoying. Seeing a post that looks interesting and then clicking to find spam is a major disappointment. Just my IMHO.

Thanks for your thoughts; I appreciate your point of view, albeit different from mine.
The question, of course, is rhetorical. No one is right and no one is wrong.

I think you two are in agreement.

I am fed up with all the automated spam that fills out genuine pen threads. Not a sales area. I see an interesting topic, look, and there is an automated post telling me to buy something.

Offhand, I don't remember how someone identified Empty of Clouds as a spurious poster in the sales forum, but I don't bother with that forum.

Making you fed up is his stated objective.

Hi lilycollins. You were so close to bumping the right thread with your spam.

That’s quite the tantrum EoC went on in the general forum.

Funny his spambots never seem to find this thread though.
