I see that they sell a Tono and Lims version also

never heard of "liquid shimmer" for fp inks before...

I'm not sure I would add it to just any ink or any pen tho

Me neither. But I found using a wide dip pen nib captures a lot of shimmer. I used shimmer inks for some envelopes, though I had to wipe a candle stick on the writing to keep it waterproof

That website for liquid shimmer provides:

Please note that shimmer powder is hard to clean from a fountain pen. Pennonia has tested each powder in several pens using M nibs and has not noticed any clogging following their suggested guidelines. Mixing an excessive amount of shimmer into inks might clog pen feeds. They suggest that you only use liquid shimmer at your own risk. Pennonia highly recommends the use of inexpensive pens for any kind of shimmering ink irrespective of who made the ink.

I love that "suggestion." (It's just a suggestion, so what was the alternative?)

I haven't had difficulty with flushing Diamine shimmer ink from the Pelikans, and in fact, I selected Pelikans because of the ease of access to the barrel and the nib/feed unit for cleaning.
