Default rOtring Tech Pen DIY flush solution?

rOtring cleaning solution is horrendously expensive here. I want to make my own.
I'm aware of the 'normal' pen flush, but bearing in mind that rOtring ink (enchre de chine) is waterproof, has anyone an idea of a formulation using easily available ingredients?
I've experimented with methelated spirits, which cleans the ink well and does no damage to the plastic parts.
Yes you can disassemble the piston and needle and clean, but it's a very delicate process especially with the finer nibs. Be nice to have a solution we can use to soak / clean.

Unfortunately, I do not know what the Rotring cleaning solution contains. (The last time I used it was over thirty years ago during my education as a draftsman...)

But I would like to quote Iņigo from Indigraph. Indigraph pens* are also designed for use with indian ink. Here is what Iņigo wrote to me.

...Bear in mind that you won't be able to clean indian ink with the ultrasonic machine using diluted alcohol.
Best solvent is ammonia, a few drops of ammonia with water will be the best option for cleaning as stated in the manual...
    Hope this helps.

Try Koh-I-Noor Rapido-Eze in an ultrasonic cleaner. It was developed for this exact purpose.

I have a bottle of Rapido-Eze that I use for my Rotring Isograph pens and it works really well. Sadly it's not available in the UK so I had to bring it back from the US once when I was there on holiday.

I pushed those things for 15+ yrs and found their cleaning fluid useless. Warm water just as good. Occasionally used to dismantle them if bad which was OK apart from the 0.1 which was always a gamble as the inner wire is just a hair. Shouldn't have any problems with the 0.3 or above.
As an afterthought, have you considered trying an ultrasonic cleaner? They weren't available back in my day and can be found quite cheap especially when used.

Well, no. Many times warm water is not at all effective, especially if dried. The mix of household ammonia and Dawn dish detergent diluted in water is often enough. In other cases you need something like Rapido-eze. An ultrasonic certainly does help. One with power under 50W is sufficient.
