    Default ST DuPont Pen Identification

    Hi,

I’m new to the forums so please forgive me if I’ve posted in the wrong place.

I just bought a beautiful silver ST DuPont Fountain pen from eBay.

The seller didn’t know the model but from research indicates it’s possibly a Dress Vendome?

Does anyone recognise this model or can point me to some ST DuPont pen history websites.

I’m interested in it’s history, when it was solid and how successful a model.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hi sorry. My mistake. It’s not a. ST DuPont it’s a Alfred Dunhill Fountain Pen. Other than the brand my questions are the same.

I believe it's a Dunhill Gemline produced by Montblanc, based on their Noblesse series. I collect the lacquered versions of the Gemline but I am not too familiar with this version, with flattened sides. Dunhill owned Montblanc from 1977 to 1993 so I believe it was made in that time frame.

Hi, thank you for the advice. I thought it might be a Gemline but my other Gemline's are a very slim pen (like the Noblesse) with a more traditional nib. This pen is about twice as thick as a Gemline and very different in size, weight and nib style. So I think it might be something different or a latter version of that.

I have seen that pen referred to as a Gemline but you might be right. The nib looks similar enough to a Noblesse's (and different enough from the Caran d'Ache made Dunhills) to make me think it is a Montblanc production.

BTW, I hope you enjoy your Gemlines as much as I so. I don't have much interest in other Montblanc made pens, for some reason.

Here's another thought. While the section wouldn't match up well with your round Gemlines you might check to see if it is threaded the same.
