@LizEf, I doubt it about the owl But you can ask the chickadee They are quite cheeky. There were a couple who drove our cat crazy. They dove like warplanes, to the bird feeder and then blew "raspberries" at her , when she couldn't catch them

Near my parent's house, years ago, was a group of magpies that would tease the local cats - one magpie waited in the road as bait, the others would then swoop down on any cat that dared stalk the one in the road. Mom would watch them and said it sure seemed they were playing a game with one of the neighborhood cats.
