Prompt 9 Botany instantly reminded me of my current favourite film: The Martian. Matt Damon as Mark Watney is left behind believed dead on Mars and needs to try to stay alive long enough to be rescued by another mission. All of the odds are well stacked against him but he's a botanist so he finds a way to provide himself with more food by growing a crop of potatoes from the bag of Thanksgiving potatoes. I had to draw a potato plant.

On a small scale now.

Remember as a kid my job was on the shovel and 800 seed potatoes went in.

My job was also hilling them during the season.

I guess this fits Botany best, and I'm a bit late to post that, but really I drew it for Frame.

I had made a support for my wife's turmeric plants and thought it would be a fun subject to draw.
I am pretty new to drawing, and I have a terrible habit of drawing too small, so that at the top is a note to self.
