I just found this on the Inktober website. Is this for doing the every day in October approach? There are 31 prompts.

@Calamus. Yes. There's a thread ready for that if anyone wants to participate.

I like to think J-P left a pack of Gauloises in the camel overcoat he wore to the studio, ready to light up off-camera.

catbert:
I agree this is one of your best.
I really like it!
Diving right in, late in the year. Oh well.
I recently took a pen and ink workshop, and the main thing I took away from it was that it's okay to cheat. According to the instructor, anyway. So I cheated, but like a good magician, I won't give away my secrets.
Based on a vintage ad. Oversized Sheaffer Balance, Black Quink.
I have to practice more. My hand is really shaky when I sketch.

Found this in the pocket of J-P's camel overcoat.
Didn't cheat this time.
P.S. I quit smoking in 1984, 39 years ago. It wasn't easy. The artwork was cool, at least, back in the day.

I love using one sketch for two prompts. Fear and Neon
Under black light it'll become Neon
Inks used: Noodler's Regular lineup 1984, General of the Armies, Kuretake
Pens used: Kaweco, Kuretake brush pen and a Q-tip

3rd drawing. I like doing one a week more than one a day. One a day can get crazy, especially when life starts pouting and stamping its foot.
Oversized Sheaffer Balance with a needle point and Black Quink. (Surprisingly, putting a Parker ink in a Sheaffer pen didn't cause a thermonuclear explosion.)

My ancient ergonomic Apple keyboard (wired no less, but cheaper than a "mechanical" computer keyboard, lasts way longer, and is just as good, in my opinion) is embarraskingly dusty and icky looking. How sick-making.
But the pen is pretty!![]()

@calamus, I love the vintage style of your drawings, very much inline with your photographies. The trick with Inktober daily is to draw as many as the prompts before hand. And not stress the details![]()

That's one reason I'm staying away from the all year version. Preparing 31 drawings for October in a burst of activity lasting a couple of weeks is an interesting challenge. But keeping it up for 52 weeks is just too much of a distraction from what I actually want to draw.
Mind you, the one month version brings its own frustrations. I get these great ideas, and then realize I'm not up to drawing them.![]()
