I'm the same. I may have said before, for me the interval between drawings is the time it takes to abandon the original idea in favour of something I can actually do. Regular Inktober will be a nice corrective to my tendency to overcomplicate (as below).That's one reason I'm staying away from the all year version. Preparing 31 drawings for October in a burst of activity lasting a couple of weeks is an interesting challenge. But keeping it up for 52 weeks is just too much of a distraction from what I actually want to draw.
Mind you, the one month version brings its own frustrations. I get these great ideas, and then realize I'm not up to drawing them.

It is absolutely spectacular @catbert . I often have the tendency with the monthly inktober to see a story. This time I've reined that part and have opted for simplicity. It's still frustrating that I can not yet create what I imagine. I do it more as a creativity/spiritual exercise. To bring fun to deadlines. Something to look forwards too rather than backward
