    To no avail.
Should've reminded them that you're a lawyer, and they could be liable for some sort of distress inflicted...

I usually don't share my former life with people putting sharp objects into my body.
Never know if they've had a bad experience with lawyers.

During the "medical malpractice crisis" a former partner was interviewed and asked, "How can we cut back on the number of malpractice cases?"
"By doctors killing fewer of their patients," he explained.

Scary thought...doctors killing all the lawyers would also end the malpractice cases.

M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
    A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.

M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.

Cary thought...doctors killing all the lawyers would also end the malpractice cases.
    Wishful thinking?
It would expand the doctors' targets once they've killed their patients.

Mine wasn't. But the music was almost tolerable. I'd rather have opera or Sinatra.

Installed Elon's galactic internet. Had T-Mobile, which was a blessing out here in the boondocks; but everyone else caught on and the lone cell tower just couldn't handle the number of users.

I said that tomorrow will be a no-phone day, so I will only be using it for calls and that's it. Though, I will still use my PC since I work on it. Let's see how I will manage without my phone for a whole day

Trial ended on Halloween Day. After we were seated at 1:40 (we were given the morning off due to a conference between the lawyers and Judge), the Judge said both sides had reached a mutually agreeable settlement and he thanked us for our diligence and civic duty. We reported to the Jury Duty Clerk who checked us out and that was that. Never did find out who won... ( It was a Civil case, not Criminal. )

It’s too bad no one let you know of the resolution, though many times the terms of the settlement are kept confidential.
Thank you for the part of your life you gave to the trial.

My Paternal Grandfather was reputed to be so superstitious that he would practically refuse to leave his bed on Friday 13. I am always conscious of this when I am "out & about' on these days & surely yesterday when I had several errands to run, one of which was to pick up a Christmas gift of homemade caramels from a Maker in a nearby town, who had suggested Friday was a "good day" for me to pick them up. As I was traveling amongst increased traffic due to the seasonal shoppers I was reminded of my Grandfather's reputed superstition & felt conscious about the day.

As I returned home, without incident, I felt relieved to back the car into the driveway, arriving home safely with multiple errands accomplished!

I'm surprised to learn that fountain pen leaks don't auto correct for non-matching nail polish.

Maybe you need a bigger leak? This lady has chosen a nice shade.
