    Wink Go Go Girl.

The TWSBI Go. A relatively new-to-me pen. I saw it, had to have it. Because the giant spring that operates its filling system just called to me.

It seems to be made of Tupperware, but that's okay. It's light yet fat, so it's comfortable in my hand. There's no clip, but the cap has a sort of roll stop so it won't travel on its own.

And this is the clear model so I can look at the ink and the spring all day. I got the Fine nib, which I have on a TWBI Eco, thinking it would be... fine.

Ha! This is a gusher, a firehose. The nib is smooth enough, but the first fill (Monteverde Malibu Blue) laid down like a sopping wet B. So did a normally dry ink mix that's darker blue. How about Chesterfield Antique Jade? That's dry. And it's light, dull green.

It went down like it was applied with a cookie press, and read black. Start over.

Wait, what's blue, but the driest ink I have? Of course. Pelikan Königsblau. Whew. It seems to work. Now happily scribbling notes with it. And this is one TWSBI that won't crack.

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I have it with a stub nib. I lovingly hate it. The list of all it's faults will be just too long

Glad you've found an ink that works (4001 KB is my go to blue to tame a pen). But I really don't like the feel of that narrowing section. I like the material, but NOT the shape.

    And then the spring broke.

    Binned it.

Thanks, Sailor! I got this in a B nib and mine is also absurdly wet. And in reverse writing, it writes a perfect EF - go figure. I dislike the section and dislike more that I can't rotate the nib in the section, and the nib has an unpleasant drag to it that I can't figure out how to tune away. So, it sits in the drawer of "to be given away" pens, waiting for a chance to go pester someone else. I do like the filling system, though - like you, I had to have one as soon as I saw it.

    TSherbs, 😱!

LizEF, at least mine writes smooth. And if I do try reverse writing, it becomes more of a Fine.

The 'roll stop' has a hole in it, as if you were going to hang it off a chain or thread and wear it around your neck. I've seen similar in Pilot gel/felt tip pens.

I have a few of these (I tend to use them for difficult or sparkly inks) and I rather like them. They're clunky and rather utilitarian and I rather like them. They're also at a price point where I don't worry about my bad ink habits, and they don't dry out.

One of mine is an EF, and it's definitely a proper EF, albeit a western rather than Japanese one. It's not horribly dry, but not a gusher either. All the others are stubs, and I've not found any of them too wet. Curious.

Twsbi Go is a fun pen. I have no problem with the nib. I will like to have an add-on clip that you can put on the cap, like some Kawecos.

Thank you for writing this pen review. It's very helpful.

I've very recently been wondering whether to try one out or not. Solely because of the price and the fact that I like the Ecos I have bought.
After reading all of the posts in this thread I'm still wondering but may decide to stick with Ecos.

    Thanks, one 'n' all!

I am on the fence about TWSBIs, having three Ecos: two 1.1 nibs and a Fine that had a stuck piston. I disassembled that one to lube the piston, but then it leaked. Somehow, it miraculously fixed itself. Also have a 540 (or is it 520?) with a couple of different nib units that thread out.

Chrissie, the Eco that was loaded with my Christmas green is taking forever to clean.

The Go section is more pleasant to feel than the hard Eco section (IMO). I do prefer the rubberized feel on some other pens, too, so I have a bias. But the taper on the Go toward the nib is far greater than that on the Eco, so it will also depend on how you feel about that (I don't like it).

I like to use the Platinum cleaner that comes as a standard international version. I can fill pens with it then leave them soaking in it for a while but I like to keep it in a jar with a lid and reuse it so I always clean them out with water first in order to keep the solution for as long as I can. Not only does it seem to get them clean but leaves the pen equipped with an ink wetting agent just in case you need it. If you don't you have to clean that out with water thoroughly afterwards. It makes stiff pistons smoother too. Eventually it gets stringy particles in there so you have to throw it away and open a new sachet. Carefully.

@Sailor, if the pen is stained, but is clean, that is if you put a tissue around a water filled pen, has not sign of stain, I use Doyou to remove it. If not like Chrissy, I use Monteverde solution.
I personally find the filling system awful and in the long run it becomes creaky and difficult to operate

That's what happened to mine, and then the spring broke <shrug>

The Go is too new to be stained. It's the Eco that won't let 'go' of the ink.

Then you use Doyou or Red Rattlers Eel. Fill the pen and forget it for sometime. You'll be surprised how clean it'll become

Rattler Red does the job for me. I bought a bottle solely to use as a cleaner (I don't like the actual color much).
