Default Inside the pages of a Medieval Sketchbook from Jackson't Art

The latest email I received from Jackson't Art - In the Studio includes an interesting read about Inside the pages of a Medieval Sketchbook from Villard de Honnecourt so I thought I would post it here.

Some members may be particularly interested in the images showing the equipment and the ink used that are near to the bottom of the article.

The "otherwise unknown frenchman called Villard de Honnecour" is far from unknown, particularly in the Canons of page layout..

Very interesting, thank you for posting.

Is there a market where you can buy filled sketchbooks by different artists? Or any kind of archive where you can peak into some? I am curious to see some creations out there, not only pictures...

Sorry but I don't know if there is. Maybe if you could find out any names of artists who completed sketchbooks you might be able to find some of their creations out there in the ether somewhere.
