Default Hello, new member found a cool pen

Hello, I will admit right from the get-go that I am not a pen collector however, I am an avid Estate Sale fleamarket, treasure, hunter type person that over many decades, has learned to recognize interesting stuff even it’s not some thing I want for myself. So I am in the process of helping to go through an estate and rescued a baggie filled with pens. Mostly just regular gold color, ballpoint pens, but there were two fountain pens. One of them was exceptionally large, not very pretty so it’s a Parker black giant no cracks it’s not too bad, but of course, I know nothing other than what I could quickly find out about on the Internet, which is that it is probably a rare pen, so I’m here to look for advice how to proceed to even mess with it. I do not want to try to figure out how to open to get out the inside. Of course the top comes off so if there’s interest, I guess I will post pictures somehow. Thanks for listening.

I haven’t used a forum in a long time and the picture requirement is for a URL which is fairly antiquated. I’m doing this off of an iPhone and unfortunately because of storage issues I can’t create the URL straight out of the cloud so I uploaded the picture to an Instagram account and I tried to post it didn’t seem to work. I must be missing something.

Yes, I figured it out. Thank you. As I said, I don’t go on forums very much these days.

What a fantasic find! Thank you for the pictures.

As far as I know, are Parkes Giants eydropper fillers which means that there is no self filling mechanism installed. You have to unscrew the pen and fill in some ink (with an exedropper for example). So there is nothing that could go wrong if you try.

    Enjoy your pen!

ps: the clip looks like an after market installation.

I agree that based upon the little bit of research I have done the clip with the washer looks kind of funky. I know they have had a number of options for Clips, even when they were being manufactured, but this looks pretty funky as I said. I was interested to read that these were used in the war and those were slightly modified so I don’t know, but it’s still very old and it’s not cracked or messed up on the outside. Not being a pen person. I am not about to start twisting anything to try to open it anywhere.

Is there normally a hole in the top of these to attach the clip? The ones I’ve seen in pictures the clip is between the cap and the rest of the pen again I have no clue what I’m talking about so I’m probably using the wrong terms.

Howdy! Looks like you really scored. I've never seen a Parker eyedropper; usually it's Waterman's eyedroppers that show up here and there. I'm guessing it's pretty scarce, which would make it valuable, and the fact that it's an oversized pen should make it even more valuable. Congratulations!

Found this doing a search of sold items on eBay:

you can select the 'full site' style layout on your mobile phone that allows you to insert photos as if you were on a desktop/laptop then revert to the 'Mobile style'
