Cool Private Reserve 2 Minutes to Midnight Blue - Limited Edition

I had a chance to test this limited-edition ink thanks to @junglejim and @DrPenfection. You
It's great fun and privilege to test inks in this fashion. It's you and the ink. No name, no preconceived idea

It’s a rich blue which is supposed to trigger deep thoughts for the fountain pen user, close to midnight. As I live in the city and rarely can observe the stars, and am never awake at midnight, I guess this ink is not for me.

Lets reach for the midnight skies with the chroma

For those who like well-behaved inks and don’t tolerate any form of rebellion, this ink is not one of the best. I even managed to create feathering on Tomoe River 68gr paper. Though the feed was suer primed and it never happened again. And it ghosted and bled through on Maruman paper.
    Lets see some nice feathers

    and some sheen:

and some ghosting on thin cheap paper:

Watertest under running water. When I tried to dry the paper with a paper towel it became this mess.

I often do little sketches. This was done for the yearly inktober, the prompt was odd.
The face of this semi-feline is a wash done with this ink.

Thanks for the detailed review, Yazeh. I do like the color - - but not the accompanying "baggage."

Thank you, Yazeh! Another great review. Holy sheen, Batman! And that fude nib of yours works wonders. Still love the little pocket mouse.

PS: I'll catch up to you in about 9 weeks. Just put this in my EFNIR pen a couple hours ago.

Yep. Fude nibs are something, I prefer them to stubs. They are so versatile, especially if you have a calligraphy inclination. It elevates one's chicken scratch to elegant swans
I'll be looking forward to your review in 2 months then....with sphinxes and Zanzibar cats and kitten and plenty of Sneks

I don't have any Fude nibs nor am I even sure what they are, but I've also written with P.R. 2 Minutes to Midnight and didn't think "the baggage" was that bad. Yes there was show through and some bleed through on my Rhodia DotPad with some of my regular nibs.

I'm not aware of Dude nibs either, we must ask the spellcheck.
Fude nibs are extremely expressive nibs and you can create amazing line variation with them. I believe Montblanc recently imitated a version of them.

The fun thing about these nibs is that they spread the ink in a different manner than a stub and you can make some inks sing. On the other hand they don't work well with very wet/lubricated inks. Your pen/nib writes in an uncontrollable manner, like a car skidding on ice, if it makes any sense

My spellcheck is wound up far too tight sometimes. I've corrected it and now at least know what one looks like. it almost looks like it's been dropped on it's tip LOL

My spellcheck often times Sailor has some fude nibs, which are great for sketching, but the angle is too steep for the latin alphabet. I find Jinhao 450 #6 fude nibs one of the best for writing. I believe Montblanc has a copied a version of fude nib. I saw a thread on which either you or someone else commented about.
