I got it home and took me an hour but I got the glass out. Someone painted is at some point. I will strip it down fix any wood damage and refelt the bottom. From all the ones I could find on line its oak wood that used so should strip and sand out nice. A light honey oak will do nice for the finish with a spray clear lacquer. Its missing the small shelf towards the top but I found a picture of one not missing it and will fabricate one to match.

Man there was two coats of old paint on it. The leg brass trim I have to manufacture one as its missing and the other three I cleaned and polished on the buffer. Here are some pictures of the paint about 90 percent removed. The bar is the cross brace to hold the sliding back. I got the brass polished, fabricated a new brass leg trim and got three coats of lacquer clear on the wood. Mine is I believe walnut on the sides. I still have to fabricate the shelf inside and on the upper arms and install the glass. Removing the old paint and varnish was a pain in the rear..

Great work indeed. Your cabinet may be missing the small shelf (which can be reproduced without much problems) but it still has the original front glass with the sandblasted Sheaffer imprint.
I wonder how the pens were displayed on the reclining shelves, possibly in pen pouches?

Thanks. I built the shelf yesterday. I made the inner shelves but the 3/4 is too thick. I will have to plane them down on the power planer today. Maybe 3/8 inch. I have the top glass to install but wanted to get the shelf installed first.
