Today I’m reviewing L’Artisan Pastellier Callifolio Violet ink.
This Violet ink is a mid violet shade that leans slightly more red than blue. It’s exactly what I think of as violet coloured ink just like the flower.
I found this ink to be well behaved with good flow and smooth lubrication across the page.
It didn’t suffer from any starting issues when I put the uncapped pen down to do swab tests, dry times, nib swaps and water resistance.
It dried very quickly on my Xerox Colorprint Mono/Laser 120gsm coated paper and I saw some nice shading.
Callifolio inks are modern inks with a traditional twist. The methods of making these inks are traditional but the colours are up to date. They are made in France and they come in “pie-slice” bottles that contain 35ml of ink or refill pouch packs that contain 50ml of ink. In the UK they are available from Cult Pens for £8.99 per bottle or per pouch.
Thank you to “mizgeorge” for sending me this sample.
