Default Beautiful Parker 51 on Yahoo Auctions

Some beautiful Parker 51 - probably LEs - are now under auction at Yahoo Auctions. (Not my pens!)
    Are the caps Sterling silver?

    Thank you.

I also just found the information: Parker 51 Special Edition from 2002 recreated the 1942 Parker 51 Empire State pen

    Cap is Sterling silver

This will be an expensive set.

Even without considering the difficulties of exchange rates and shipping, these pens are not worth wasting money on. That series was indeed very pretty, and the caps are fabulous. But the plastic was cheap and brittle, they crack and break easily, and they write very poorly. The nib is more like a "niblet" - a tiny little thing on a weird sliding stepped feed, and the flow is poorly controlled.
So unless it's just to show off that you have this pretty thing in a display case, better to spend your hard earned cash on a "real" 51 from the 40s or 50s. For that same price, you can some very very nice ones, even double jewel, near mint.
