MB pen case from the 1950s. Has anyone seen this type of case?
I have a Montblanc 149 pen and pencil set from the 1950s. It has a case which I have not seen before. I was once told that it was made of Bakelite but I am not sure.
It has a tortoise shell look to it. Can anyone shed light on this? have you seen this case before?

Thank you ver much Christof. Very nice looking boxes. I am thinking of selling mine. It has a circa 1955 MB 149 and a matching pencil, I think the 179. I did not want to say that the case was made of bakelite if it was not actually bakelite. I'm no expert on early plastics.
