Default Have you heard this version of "Who's That Lady"?

The famous Isley Brothers version is truly great; recently I learned it was a cover.
The original artist? The Isley Brothers.

The original recording is a very silky Bossa Nova with a delicious/angular horn arrangement.
If you're not grinning ear to ear listening to this, give up: there is no hope.

Only a title in common. Nice tune, love the Isley Brothers.

Not sure who was playing guitar for them on this recording from 1964. It sounds (to me) like a big jazzbox (Like a Gibson ES 135 or such)
'64 was the year Jimi Hendrix started playing with the Isleys. He lived in their house for about 2 years. This doesn't sound like Jimi to me though.

Well, not according to interviews I've watched. They changed some of the lyrics, the arrangement, and the title.
I'm not sure this earlier version was even released until 1991.

The more famous version (That Lady pts 1&2) is the leadoff track for 3+3, the first record after officially adding 3 more Isleys to the band.
It's one of the first Isley recordings to feature 21-year-old Ernie Isley on lead guitar.
