From an FPN member: A Danitrio Cum Laude, the small version in brown tones. The nib is steel tuned by Pendleton Brown to his "Butterline Stub".

Also from FPN--restoration lot of 3: Pelikan 400 green stripe (early nib!), Parker 51 Aero, Luxor with telescoping piston. Can't wait to dig into repairing them!

I'm waiting on two right now (well there's a couple others but they're insignificant in comparison)

    - 1992 Omas Europa Limited Edition in a blue vegetal resin and 18K 2-tone F
    - A (soon to be serviced, going to repairs, then to me) Montblanc 146 (90s), 2-tone F

3D Printed in Alumide (Nylon powder and Aluminum powder mix). Sounds fascinating.

Are you going for the polished or unpolished finish ?

Well, it wasn't something I lost sleep over, but I did hem-and-haw a bit. I liked the look of both, and initially was drawn more to the unpolished. The thing is, I thought about how rough surfaces can become dirty, and how there might be areas that would become polished with use and have a non-uniform look. I probably gave it less time to think than it is taking me to type this, but I settled on the polished version:

I think I would have chosen the polished too.
It gives a more refined definition to the pen but still looks rugged.

I hope you receive it soon so we can hear how it handles and performs.

Thanks, I think you said it better than I. I've really not been an impulsive buyer in pens, but I got this almost solely for the unique look and manufacturing. If I end up putting a different nib in, or tuning it somehow, so be it. There won't be many bodies like this (and that is a statement I'll never be able to say about myself!).

A black carbon fiber Monteverde Jewelria Fountain Pen with Medium nib is winging it's way south from Appleton. I had to get a few sacs from the Andersons for pen repair and the Monteverde jumped in the cart with the sacs.

Not ignorant at all, and I was only barely aware of the maker: Filcao, an Italian pen maker. Giovanni Abrate, one of the owners of Pentrace, has been involved with these pens for a while. There was a message posted the other day that started as:

Pentrace sponsor H&S, Giovanni Abrate has received a shipment of the very last last pens made by FILCAO. As you may know, the owner and founder of FILCAO, Franco Grisolia passed away a few months ago. Productions has ceased at FILCAO. These are the very last pens made by FILCAO in Settimo. Silvias (incl. gold nib version), Desiree, Alexander, Leader, Columbia, Atlantica Vac Fill and several more.
It was a completely bizarre event (which I discussed with Gio): announcement of sales on the Sales Board, a listing of models and prices on their Newbie board, and then photos and a bit of info on thir Facebook group. I had a feeling that a fair number of the sales were going to long-time Pentrace members who already knew something about the pens, but I and a few others knew nothing. Anyway, after a bit of time looking around on the various spots I settled on those, which are a model called "Leader" in lacquer finish. I liked their look, and they were a bargain ($50 each). Some of the other models were more expensive, and some nice pens, but none more than about $150.

If you want more info I'd go look at Pentrace. Giovanni may have more pens left but I am not certain of it.
