Picking up at Columbus Ohio after professional attention:
    Conklin "4" crescent-filler BHR ca. 1905
    Waterman Ink-Vue silver-ray desk pen ca. 1937
Sheaffer Triumph Vac-Fill carmine ca. 1942 (false alarm - no repair required! Yay!)

    Two arrivals today.

The Waterman W5 in grey striated material. Possibly one of the most attractive vintage pens I've yet seen. Haven't inked it up yet (still at work) but the nib feels quite soft (not noodly). Just a stunning pen.

Second, the Parker 51 set arrived. Totally blown away here. It's a true dark midnight blue version, and the cap has frosting that looks brand new. Fabulous condition all round. The pencil is apparently one of the "liquid lead" versions, but there is a sealed refill in the original packaging provided, together with all the usual documents that came with the pen when it was new.

Incidentally, the pencil, while having the liquid lead thing going on, looks like it has a clutch mechanism. Does anyone know if you can simply use an appropriate size normal lead refill in it?

    Cheers!

I wonder if you included a salutation and signoff if that would bump the score up to 4/5: Something like "Dearly beloved" ... "Warmest regards"
    Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.
