I was sad my Namiki Graphite hadn't arrived on my last trip home before Christmas this year. -_-
I expected the pen to ship pretty much immediate after my order given it is a limited run edition.

On a whim, I bought a 1948 gray/silver Vacumatic (Major). It will take a few weeks to arrive. :heavy sigh: Well, before December I hope.
I already have a 1944 green Vac (Junior) that's in pretty perfect mint condition. The problem is I can't bring myself to take it outside the house. I'm sure plenty people on this forum take 60-100 years old vintage pens with them everyday, but I can't help worrying: "It has survived all these years without blemish. What if I scratched it or dropped it?"
Anyway, that's why I bought this one, which appears to be in excellent (but not mint) condition, so I can finally take one outside.

It is rare when I'm waiting for two pens at the same time:
- Pilot Metropolitan (Gold) for my sister
- Pelikan M800 Tortoise (F) for her brother

I am responsible for turning a 1936 Vac Slender from half decent condition (bite marks and minor wear) to a full user grade pen: the section is heavily stained as well as the cap, the trim doesn't shine at all...but for some reason I feel good about it. It was unrestored when I bought it, and maybe would have sat unused for years and then been thrown out, instead, it gets to live out its life doing what it was made for--it has been used heavily for countless pages of writing and drawing over the past 2 years. Now, if it was in good condition when I bought it, I wouldn't feel the same way...my NOS Pelikan P1 and my excellent condition Golden Brown Slender Vac almost never leave the house and are carried in a case when they do.

Thanks Will. I think that's what I'll end up doing - handle my green Junior Vac with kid gloves and make the most out of the gray Major Vac. I can't wait to ink it up.
The journey to Australia via 'priority mail' takes twice as long as 'First class shipping' and costs twice as much, but the seller insists.

Oops... I've just pulled the trigger on the Edison Nouveau Macassar ebonite LE. M steel nib. And some grey ink samples. And the Executive Package set, which includes a black Lamy Studio, iroshizuku take-sumi and a Webbie...
"What are moon-letters?" asked the hobbit full of excitement. He loved maps, as I have told you before; and he also loved runes and letters, and cunning handwriting, though when he wrote himself it was a bit thin and spidery.

Snedwos.... that is a nice package coming your way - the Edison Nouveau Macassar ebonite LE. with M steel nib sounds wonderful and a black Studio too - sounds like Christmas is coming early.
Writingrav - wow the Visionnaire. I hope it fulfils your expectations considering all the controversy. Looking forward to hearing your views when it arrives.
Ordered some new Field Notes, a White Tiger Metropolitan and a bunch of ink for GPC.

Not as exciting as opening the box with that lovely translucent tortoiseshell Van Gogh. (the in-flight Visconti is a similar shape pen to that)
The white lacquer appears similar to my White Lamy Studio at a fraction of the cost.
I was so close to ticking the Bronze Lizard Metropolitan as well but you've got to show some restraint some of the time.

I triggered the fraud alert on my debit card yesterday. Though it was my mistake during checkout, and having it appear to go through twice. Apparently the bank approved the funds, but the Goulets' payment software rejected the transaction first time around because of a billing address mismatch. The bank then got suspicious when they got an identical request a few minutes later. All should be well.

Just ordered a vintage Conklin plunger-filler to add to my growing collection of vac style vintage pens.

I just bought myself a TWSBI mini clear, with fine nib. It's on the way to me in Melbourne now... can't wait!
And I think I need to post more. I read lots, but don't post much...
