I'll bet. I haven't seen a pen in a long time that so cried out "Now, what ink am I going to put in THIS?". That's a big decision, Murf!

I was so excited to hear of the pen's return, I hadn't given it that much thought. But you are dead right. Ummm ... Diamine Maroon? No, too much red. Orange would clash with the red. Noodler's Navajo Turquoise would go a treat, as would Noodler's American Eel Blue - which would be good for piston lubing. A dark green would also look good. I'll work on it ...

Equally I can also think of several shades that would really clash with the barrel colors - the downside of a partially translucent barrel.

If you don't mind writing with red-hued inks, I'd throw my hat in the ring with either Diamine Syrah or Red Dragon. Both go-to's for me.

Yes, I do have Syrah and like writing with it. Good suggestion, Jon.

I only had it in my hand for a short time (enough to take a photo) when it had to be returned for minor piston maintenance. It's now winging its way back Downunder. I am really looking forward to writing with it.

    Eye Candy!--Nice.

We know a beauty (spoken in a strong Aussie accent as in "You BEAUTY!") when we see one, and that RM red Verona is a ripper!

'So why not' is all I can say. And all the above. And don't forget pasta, espresso, cappuccinos, gelato and on and on.

The RM red Verona 'Vino Chianti' is such a beautiful pen but I think it does look better without ink in it. And it holds an awful lot of ink.

Wasn't there a rumour of another Visconti headiing towards Murfie's part of Australia ?

Rumour confirmed. There is a honey/almond Kaleido Voyager accompanying the Verona on its journey to keep it company, but no pics till it arrives.

My Falcon should arrive in the mail today.

One week to wait for it was too long.

My Visconti Divina, in Italy for repair since October, will be home Tuesday. Finally all 34 are under one roof and I can get some new "family" pictures.

Well, Italy is the world epicentre of style and design isn't it? We Aussies clearly have taste and recognise style when we see it

Well, I promised an update, so I'll keep it in this thread: both of the acquisitions arrived on the same day, and I couldn't be happier! This Parker "Magnetix" Desk Pen is a complete hoot! Not only is the pen basically a "51" with a taper on it, but it is in very, very fine condition. All it took was a light polishing, and when dipped in water there were immediate dark blue waftings, so I sucked up some water and it started writing like butter with the reconstituted ink...

The "Magnetix" moniker apparently (have to do more research on this) comes from the ball joint attachment of the pen holder. As I moved it around to use a little Simichrome on it, I couldn't see any pivot openings or anything. I finally decided to pull a little, and a little more, and ... pop! It popped out, and it is a polished steel ball that is held in place in the rounded depression by a strong magnet in the base. It's more than strong enough to hold it in any position, but moves very smoothly...

Lastly, I hoped that this would be a great desk accessory for my "current rotation" pens, and it totally hits the mark. The desk pen itself is a real winner, but adding this to the mix makes it a very fun $24.00 purchase.

BTW, the middle pen is the other purchase, a lovely Eversharp Skyline demi. Hardly needed any cleaning up, section came out pretty easily. The only thing is that I have to put in an order, because this pen requires a very particular sac (necked and tapered), so I can't try it out properly right now.

    But I will.

Jon, that's a lovely desk pen. I love how you're using the ashtray as a pen display! Also, your current rotation pens are beautiful. What is the blue marbled one between the the Sheaffer Snorkel (?) and the Skyline?

Thanks - keeping lungs healthy and pens displayed since, uh, 2014! The pen you ask about is a Conway Stewart No. 58 in Marbled Blue (1949-63?). Nice pen, but just my first dipping-of-the-toes into English pens. Won't be the last, I'm afraid...
