So I received word last night that sometime in February I will be receiving a Parker Urban gift set from Amazon. A friend sent it to me. I'm excited; this will be my first Parker pen. And I think it comes with a bottle of ink so my first bottle of Quink too.

Winging their way to England from the Far East are:

Pilot Custom 74 with Music nib
    Kaigelu 316 Amber M nib
Pilot "PRERA iro-ai" Transparent M-nib Clear Black Accent M nib

I'm most excited about the Custom 74 with the music nib which won in an Fleabay auction, never had one before so looking forward to giving it a test run.

After three and a half months in Italy for repair my wait is over. The Divina is home, polished and beautiful and with a replaced filling system. It has never worked this smoothly!!

TWSBI Mini, clear demonstrator, F nib! Decided to add to my little TWSBI family (I have two 540s). It should be shipped out from the Toronto area in the next few days.

One of the three pens that I mentioned last week arrived on Saturday, the Kaigelu 316. I'm really pleased with this weighty Chinese pen, it wrote perfectly from the start, I've tried it with Akkerman Brown and currently its got J Herbin 1670 Rouge Hermatite in it, it gives a bit of nib creep as you can see. I think it's a copy of the Parker Centennial, the only thing that I'm less than happy with is that the cap takes a zillion rotations (well 5 at least) to seal it and it does not post comfortably, a small list compared to the excellent quality, $22.00 on fleabay, a bargain I think.

I finally found an NOS of the first good fountain pen I owned (back in the 70's), a Sheaffer Fashion 260-0. It is a bit slender, but the brass body gives it a nice weight, and the nib is really wonderful. I still have my original, which suffered bad corrosion around the section band (due to long storage under poor conditions). I'm psyched that I found a 'new' one for about the price of a Pilot Metropolitan!

The pens mentioned in my prior post are here and all (except the smoke school pen, it will remain sealed on the card for now) are in great shape. When I have the time, I'll post a pen and ink write up for each of them.

I'm now waiting for a black Esterbrook J.

I have a couple of 316s. They both write quite well, though one of them has shoddy threading so it doesn't just take a while to open and close but I have to be rather precise and careful in doing it. Small price to pay (literally).

I weakened and bought the Vanilla Visconti Van Gogh that was at a price that was too good to resist. It's currently "in transit" and it's killing me

I am now waiting for a 1990's Pilot TOW I think it is called as I wanted to try out its Namiki Falcon looking nib design. $45 dollars so I hope it truly is NoS.
