I buy in eBay constantly and I find that there are many excellent sellers. Compared with a few years ago, buyers are very well supported if anything goes wrong.
These have arrived today, though I'll have to wait until I get back from work to test them. With the aerometric (complete) Duofold I had intended (if it was a suitable candidate) to send it to Pendleton Brown for a stubbing. However, it seems that the nib already has stubbish tendencies.

As for the other pen, the blind cap removed reveals a brass (?) button filler. Unfortunately whatever goes inside a button filler (and somebody can please enlighten me on what this might be) is missing. So I have body, section, nib, feed, and cap (missing clip and cap tassie). This nib alos looks stubby and slightly oblique.

Anywho, photos in a few hours!

Your pen with what appears to be brass is an Aluminium Filler. To make the pen work you only need a pressure bar and sac. The clip and cap tassie should not be too difficult to source.

How is the pressure bar fitted? I have only seen the type that are used with lever fillers.

The button looks like this - (edit: not an AF)

Is this restoration something that I could do myself without specialist tools? Or should I send it to someone?

Alternatively. I could use the nib from this one in a custom pen.

Just had a bit of a result on the BayofEvil, took a punt on a badly described with even worse photographs, just Described as a Bont Mont fountain pen, (their spelling) thought I could just make out the stripes of an ink window, it didn't look wide enough for a 149 so was hoping for a 146, ended up winning for just over £100 and absolutely mint 146, turned up by next day delivery, which wasn't included in the auction, he only charged £1 For postage. a nice result for a change.

You're right, it's not an AF. If there is no pressure bar you can just unscrew the section. Normally, when a pressure bar is in place, one removes the button and pulls out the pressure bar before removing the section. Fit a size 18 sac cut to the appropriate length, let the shellac cure and screw the section back in. Introduce the pressure bar from the other end and refit the button. That's it!

The section pulls out, it is not a screw fit. Shellacking a new sac is not a problem. However, there is no obvious way that the button can be removed from that end. So I cannot fathom how the pressure bar goes in. It's starting to look like a sendaway job or possibly a salvage operation to repurpose the nib.

Edit: the aerometric and complete pen has - I would gauge -a medium stub nib, and the pen that needs restoring has a broad stub with some interesting flex!

You have to pull the button out. It requires a little force. I'm surprised to hear that the section is not threaded. Would it be possible to see a photo of the whole of the pen? I had assumed that it was a Duofold, which has a screw-in section.

Applied some increasing traction to the button. It doesn't feel as though it's going to be removable that way. And here' quick and dirty picture of the section removed from the barrel (neither have threads, apart from those that the cap uses).

If you're having difficulty removing the button, slide the tips of needle-nose pliers underneath it, then press upward with your hand. I can't tell from that photo what fountain pen you have.

Nice. I have an M205 on my shortlist as well. Would you mind posting where you purchased from and, also, a brief review? I'd really be interested in hearing how you like it.
I bought it on eBay from missing-pen (aka Rolf Thiel) in Germany. He has a perfect 100% feedback rating. The pen was $119 and change plus $9.95 for shipping to the US. He has all sorts of German pens, new and vintage. I'll be glad to post how I like it once it arrives and I get a chance to try it out.
The Eagle has landed! Day before yesterday (slightly over a week from Germany -- pretty good! Came four days before the first day of the "expect it by" window). Yesterday I inked it with Diamine Havasu Turquoise, one of my favorite inks because I like the color so much. I got a broad nib with the pen, but I also ordered an extra medium for $37.50 to swap out for when I wanted to use the Pelikan but needed a finer nib because I wanted to be able to write smaller. Anyway, I was blown away by the writing experience when I took it on its maiden voyage (wrote a thank you letter for some ink samples junglejim sent me). I'd been using Havasu Turquoise for ages in Japanese pens, and never realized what amazing shading it has because even the 21K broad on my Sailor isn't all that broad. But with that Pelikan B nib it really shows up, and it's gorgeous. Blew me away. and the writing experience was amazing -- the pen felt alive in my hand, is the only way I can describe it. It was almost like it was writing by itself, and all I had to do was hang on. Metaphorically speaking, or course, your mileage may differ, etc. etc. But yeah, I think it was worth every penny, and then some. I'll post a writing sample in the "Thread written entirely in fountain pen" when I get the chance.

I didn't have chinese pens, other than the cheap one I use to try inks that would spoil my good pens.

But this one is a keeper. Just arrived today, Liy Shisan

I have alo ordered some Penbbs 267 - I love desk pens, and these one are quite elegant

My pen addiction is getting more serious. I just got that amazing Pelikan less than two weeks ago, and today I broke down and bought a Parker Duofold Junior from Deb. Couldn't help myself. I may need outside intervention...

For less than £50! How does she do it?????

How long has everyone waited for their pens?

Back in May 2013, I fell in love with the Edison Mina model for its subtle curves and sleek lines. At that time, Ernest Shin of Hakumin Urushi Hobo was taking custom orders, so I commissioned him for a custom maki-e version of the pen with lotus and cloud designs. Real life and other matters have happened in between, but long story short:

It is currently April 2019 I am still waiting for my custom Edison Lotus Mina. Last I heard, Ernest was going to redo the maki-e for the lotuses. I know he has long wait times, but 6 years sure is a lot...

Congrats--Pelikans are EPIC pens! The broad nib on my Streseman can actually soak through Tomoe River paper with the right ink on board!
